- We cannot serve God and man at the same time (1:10; 5:11).
- The scriptures are inspired of God (1:11-12).
- God is no respecter of persons (2:6; 3:28).
- Great is the fellowship of Christians (2:9; 4:13-14; 6:2, 10).
- There is no place for hypocrisy in the Christian (2:11-14).

- The Law of Moses had a purpose and fulfilled it (3:19-29).
- Christians are the true descendants of Abraham (3:29; 6:16).
- It is possible to fall from grace (5:4).
- Freedom in Christ is not license to sin (5:13-15).
- We must walk by the Spirit (5:16-18, 22-23, 25; 6:8).
- We must avoid the works of the flesh (5:16-17, 19-21, 24).
